TERRAIN History
Terrain was founded in 2001 and has performed in many New York venues including Danspace Project, The Kitchen, Guggenheim Museum, 92nd Street Y, Joyce SoHo, Movement Research at the Judson Church, and Brooklyn Arts Exchange among others. Rebecca and Terrain have performed nationally in Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Princeton, The Yard, Los Angeles, San Diego, and have been presented internationally in Canada, Russia and Turkey. Rebecca is currently a second year artist-in-residence at Movement Research and recently completed an artistic residency with the Joyce Theater Foundation. Previous artistic residencies and awards include: The Yard, a colony for performing artists; Djerassi Resident Artist Program Honorary Fellow, supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts; Brooklyn Arts Exchange; and the 92nd St Y Harkness Dance Center. Rebecca has received funding for her choreography from the Canada Council for the Arts, Princeton University, Nova Scotia Arts Council, and USIS. Recently, Terrain completed teaching residencies at James Madison University, The Yard and Shenendoah Conservatory. This summer, Terrain will perform at the White Mountain Summer Dance Festival at Sarah Lawrence College, where it was company-in-residence from 2003-06.
